Certification Regulatory Basis and Scope of Application
Robotic arms and robots exported to Russia must comply with the Customs Union Technical Regulations (CUTR), with the core basis being TR CU 010/2011 ‘Technical Regulations on the Safety of Mechanical Equipment.’ Depending on product characteristics, the following regulations may also apply:
Electromagnetic Compatibility: Must comply with TR CU 020/2011 standards
Electrical Safety: If the equipment voltage exceeds 50V AC or 75V DC, it must comply with TR CU 004/2011 ‘Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment’
Exceptions: Robots for medical use, nuclear energy applications, etc., are not subject to TR CU 010/2011

1. Robotic Arm Product Characteristics
Definition: An automated device that mimics the functions of human hands and arms, capable of grasping, moving objects, or operating tools according to a fixed program, classified as an early-generation industrial robot

Common Types:
By drive type: hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, mechanical
By control type: point-to-point control, continuous trajectory control

Key Considerations
Marking Usage Guidelines: Products must be affixed with the EAC mark, with a minimum size of no less than 5mm, in black-and-white or white-and-black colour combinations
Certification Cycle: Approximately 4-6 weeks for standard robotic arms, 8-12 weeks for hazardous machinery (including factory audit)
Technical Document Updates: If product design changes occur, re-evaluation of certification compliance is required
Representative Services: Overseas companies must submit applications through a local Russian entity as a legal representative
